Philadelphia Young Pianists Academy

The Philadelphia Young Pianists Academy was established to help young artists achieve their dreams of becoming concert pianists. Sixteen to twenty pianists, age 12 – 24 are selected for the program, which runs annually. Their level of playing is very high.

During the Academy week, the students receive master classes with four to five pianists of international fame; hear the master classes of others; and perform in the students’ concert.

The Academy is under the artistic direction of Concert Pianist Ching-Yun Hu , Artistic Director of Yun-Hsiang International Music Festival in Taipei, Professor at Temple University in Philadelphia, and top prize winner of the Rubinstein International Piano Competition. Ms. Chu has a very busy international concert schedule, but takes time each year to help these young pianists.
