Moxart, Inc. was formed as a not-for-profit corporation in 2010 with several goals.
The musical mission
To provide amateur musicians with opportunities that would otherwise not be available.
The Open Recital Program is available to players of any level who wish to gain performance experience. Participants may play anything they wish, for up to twenty minutes, in a relaxed, informal and encouraging setting. There is a multiplicity of opportunities here: to learn the techniques of performance as opposed to practicing or playing for oneself; to overcome nervousness; to perform a work several times (as most professionals regularly do, and most amateurs almost never); to do a dress rehearsal of music to be performed elsewhere.
Moxart sponsors the Philadelphia Young Pianists Academy , under the artistic direction of pianist Ching-Yun Hu. The academy brings talented young pianists, age 12 – 24, from all over the world to Philadelphia for a week of master classes and concerts.
Management Software
Moxart offers EZ*NP (formerly called Moxware), an integrated, online system for managing a small nonprofit.
Other Arts and Education
Moxart’s mission also includes other arts and educational programs. Moxart has supported a number of small projects. Increasing resources are devoted to these activities.
